Dwain M. Taylor, age 66, died unexpectedly of natural causes in his home on September 25, 2015.  He was born January 24, 1949 in Smiths Creek to Lloyd and Edith Taylor, lived for several years in Connecticut and for the past 27 years was a resident of Kimball.  Dwain served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  He was past Commander and life member of the VFW in Naugatuck, Connecticut and for 22 years was a member of American Legion Post 8 in Port Huron.  He worked as a union carpenter and was a member of Local 687. 

 Dwain is survived by 4 children, James L. Taylor, Janelle Taylor, Tina (Brian) Watson, Tammy (Terry) Cassidy, 8 grandchildren, Dillon, Nathan, David, Brianna, Ashley, Brandon, Cody, and Joshua, a brother, Raymond Taylor, a great friend and cousin, Gary Caughel, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Doris Comstock. 

His funeral took place at 11 AM Thursday at Smith Family Funeral Home - South, 1230 7th Street with Pastor Ron Graham officiating.  A graveside committal service followed at Caswell Cemetery under the auspices of the Veterans Honor Guard Alliance.  Visitation was held Wednesday from 5-8 PM and on Thursday beginning at 10 AM.  Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior project.  www.smithfamilyfuneralhome.com
