I hadn't seen Terry since the early 70's when I happened to run into him again at the Quay Street Bar in Port Huron the day before our 45 year reunion.  This was just a gathering spot intended for PHHS 1967 graduates who weren't going to attend the actual reunion itself.  Anyway we sat and shot the breeze with everybody for about an hour or so and then I told him that I had to go.  My main reason for being in town was to do some fishing that night at one of the parking lots  just south of the Blue Water Bridge.  He said "Well let's go!  I always keep my poles and tackle box in the truck just for that reason."  And so we fished together for several hours that night and reminisced about the old days.  We continued to meet each other down at the river several times during the next few weeks.  It seemed like we had a lot in common.  Most of all we both loved hunting and fishing.  Then a few weeks passed by without me running into him anymore.  We had traded phone numbers, and so I decided to finally give him a call to see if he was alright.  Nobody answered so I left a message.  His wife called me back not long afterwards and told me he had dropped dead of a heart attack.  I could hardly believe my ears; the man had looked perfectly healthy to me each time we met down at the river.  It goes to show that you just never know when your time is up.  At any rate, I was glad to have his company down at the river while it lasted.  I miss him.
