Grant C. Nixon Marysville Grant C. Nixon, 60, died unexpectedly of a heart attack on Wednesday, March 24, 2010. He was born May 25, 1949 in Port Huron to the late W. Arthur and Leona Nixon. Mr. Nixon was employed with St. Clair County for 36 years and retired in October 2009 as Probate Court Administrator. He was a former member of the Marysville City Council, served in the U.S. Navy, and earned a bachelor's degree from Western Michigan and an M.B.A. from Central Michigan University. He was an avid boater and passionate hockey fan. He is survived by his four children, Brett Nixon and his mother, Janet Zurick, Andrew, Adam and Sarah Nixon and their mother, Karyn Hagedon-Nixon; dear friend, Sue Kinney; and a half sister, Dona Kerr. Visitation will be 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday in the Marysville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 29, 2010 in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Reverend Donald Doerzbacher will officiate. Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council. Memorials may be made to the family.
